A century ago, physics underwent a similar transition: meaningful progress began to require larger particle accelerators, global telescope arrays, and coordinated human effort at unprecedented scale. Now that same transition is happening across every discipline at once.
Our mission is to ensure that an open-source force exists to support AI-driven science. The capabilities ahead —frontier AI mathematicians, frontier AI physicists, new ways to cure cancer — should not be monopolized by any single company or institution. We will work to ensure they belong to humanity.
